Invigorated and Expanded Leadership Helps Meet Critical Unmet Legal Needs of Diverse Local Populations in Poverty

BOSTON, MA (August 9, 2016) — Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) today announced results of its 2016-17 Board elections and the addition of nine new members to its Board of Directors.

“Our organization provides critical, high-quality civil legal assistance to more than 10,000 low income individuals and families in the greater Boston area every year, from legal advice to full case representation, across diverse populations in need from children to the elderly,” said Jacquelynne J. Bowman, Executive Director of GBLS. “Our leadership remains invigorated and our new Board Members bring expertise from a range of industries and backgrounds – including new members from the biopharmaceutical industry and the Boston office of two large international law firms.”

GBLS re-appointed Melissa Bayer Tearney, partner, Choate Hall & Stewart LLP for a second one-year term as the organization’s Board President, and Isaac D. Bantu of Salem District Court for a second one-year term as co-Vice President of the Board, sharing that position with newly-appointed co-Vice Presidents, John F. Donohue, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Arbella Insurance Group, and Samuel B. (Sandy) Moskowitz, Shareholder, Davis, Malm & D’Agostine, P.C.
