Pro Bono Partnerships

CDP mentors pro bono attorneys from top local and national firms and corporate legal departments on their representation of childhood disability claims. We refer some of our own cases to our pro bono partners to handle directly. Pro bono advocates assist us in meeting a critical need by supporting the existing work of CDP and providing an important service to an under-served population. Our major pro bono partner, EMD Serono, Inc., regularly works on at least one case for CDP at all times and has been recognized by the legal community for its pro bono advocacy.

In other cases, CDP functions in a consulting role, advising pro bono advocates on specific issues, such as how to prepare for and conduct hearings or how to craft an effective legal memorandum in a childhood case.

If you would like to partner with us to take on a pro bono case, or if you need advice on a specific issue for a pro bono case you already have, please contact CDP Project Director, Taramattie Doucette.

Academic Partnerships

CDP has strong ties to local law schools. CDP regularly employs at least one full-time law student from Northeastern University School of Law.  NUSL legal interns are a critical part of the CDP team. Each intern is supervised by the Project Director and maintains a full case load, allowing CDP to serve even more clients who need our help.

In addition, CDP created a one-year staff attorney fellowship position with help from NUSL. The second recipient of this fellowship is currently employed with CDP.
